Keeping tabs on Tuesday's morning commute

Posted by: Tim Harlow Updated: October 15, 2013 - 5:15 AM

Good morning, commuters!

Rain is supposed to tapper off this morning, but you'll need your windshield wipers at least for the early portion of the rush hour.

With wet roads, be sure to watch your speeds, especially going around corners and curves. One motorist lost it on the curve on southbound 35W in downtown Minneapolis. That spin out has just cleared.

Look out for a motorist who hit an object and is now parked on the right shoulder of eastbound 494 at Penn Avenue.

Overnight road work is still in progress on westbound 694 to the west of 35W. That should lift by 6 a.m., but for now it's single lane.

I will be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
