A run against hunger

The University of Minnesota's College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences will host a 5K run/walk at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, on the St. Paul campus

Proceeds from the Norman Borlaug 5K will benefit Project Food Security, a student group that focuses on finding solutions for local and global hunger.

Agronomist Norman Borlaug (1914-2009), below, a U graduate and Nobel Peace Prize winner, is credited with saving hundreds of thousands of lives from starvation through his research in food science.
