The Sabo bike and pedestrian bridge over Hiawatha Avenue in south Minneapolis will close for routine maintenance Tuesday and Wednesday, Minneapolis city officials said.

The bridge will close Tuesday morning and reopen by Wednesday afternoon when maintenance work is expected to be completed.

Motor vehicle traffic on Hiawatha Avenue will not be affected by the bridge's closure.

The 215 foot-long Sabo bridge opened in November of 2007. It's part of the 5.7-mile Midtown Greenway, which connects the Chain of Lakes with the Mississippi River in south Minneapolis.
