6:30 a.m. update: Delays in Elk River on Hwy. 10

Commuters can expect to encounter delays on Hwy. 10 in Elk River today through next Monday. The highway is reduced to a single lane in both directions between 171st Av. NW. and Norfolk Av NW.  MnDOT crews are making drainage and pedestrian improvements.

On the roads this morning, traffic is moving at a decent clip, even on the routes that normally see a lot of congestion. Things are just now filling in on southbound 35W from Hwy. 10 to 694. That is a drive you can make in just a few minutes.

On westbound 94, look for a pocket of slow traffic at Johnson Pkwy., but things thin out just past the exit to 6th Street in St. Paul.

Both 494 and Crosstown in both directions through Edina and Bloomington are running smoothly.

Be prepared to hit the brakes on 694 through the work zone between Hwy. 252 and East River Road. That will only set you back a couple minutes.
