Good morning commuters!

All eyes will be on I-694 through Brooklyn Center, Fridley and New Brighton this morning where that advertised road construction project is underway.

The project will be phased in over the next few days. Right now eastbound traffic is flowing along just fine as there are no lane restrictions in place. On the westbound side, two lanes are blocked at University Avenue over to Hwy. 252. The ramp to East River Road is closed.

In the south metro, delays are possible on northbound I-35 in Lakeville. That is due to the single lane configuration on I-35E from Crystal Lake Road up to Cedar Avenue. On Monday, commuters ran into a few slowdowns as they made their way from County 46 up to the split.

Then there is the bridge projects on Hwy. 169 between Crosstown and Hwy. 7. On Monday, that moved along fairly well. We'll see what today brings. It is one lane in each direction there.

The overnight road work on eastbound 494 at France Avenue should be out of the way soon. Westbound work at Penn Avenue also should wrap up by 6 a.m.

I'll be watching the roads and rails today letting you know where you will find problems, issues and delays. If you see anything that you feel your fellow commuters would like to know, pass that on to me. Leave a comment here, email drive@startribune.com or tweet @stribdrive.
