Repairs have been complete and MnDOT traffic maps are active once again.  The service and www.511mn.org went live just after 7 a.m. Wednesday.  The site includes listinigs of accidents, hazards and road work, cameras that show traffic conditions and a color-coded map showing current traffic conditions.

Here is the original post about the crash

Motorists who have attempted to get travel information from the Minnesota Department of Transportation's travel information web site might have noticed that traffic maps have been green for the past few days and no information about accidents or delays has been posted.

That's because central servers that host the information accessed by the public crashed over the weekend. MnDOT spokesperson Kelly Kennedy Braunig said all the hard drives will have to be restored and repairs might not be completed until late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

"It isn't the work of a hacker, however, we are going to investigate to determine what happened," said spokesman Kent Barnard.

For many, the travel information site is the place to check traffic conditions. The site includes a map with color-coded traffic conditions and lists incidents such as accidents, road work and hazards on the roads.  The link that includes a map with cameras that show road conditions is still functioning.

Until it's fixed, Kennedy Braunig said motorists can check conditions on a companiion site, www.511mn.org. But that page, too, might not display properly until all repairs are made.
