St. Louis Park residents and other stakeholders are invited to weigh in on plans to reconstruct the interchange of Hwy. 7 and Louisiana Avenue.

MnDot in conjunction with the City of St. Louis Park want to take out the traffic lights and turn lanes and replace them with a full diamond interchange.

The estimated cost is $25.2 million and work would begin in the spring and be completed by the fall of 2014.

Specifics are still being hammered out, but the project designed to improve traffic flow and safety calls for a bridge on Hwy. 7 spanning Louisiana Avenue. Roundabouts would be added on Louisiana at both Lake and Walker streets, and both Lake and Walker streets would be reconfigured.

Features to improve safety and amenities for pedestrians and bicyclists will be incorporated into the final plan.

Tonight's meeting is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the St. Louis Park Municipal Service Center, 7305 Oxford Street.
