Minnesotans are lending a helping hand to emergency efforts on the East Coast as Hurricane Sandy makes landfall there.

A total of 33 people from the Minnesota DNR and U.S. Forest Service in Minnesota were mobilized over the weekend, including a 20-person "saw crew" to clear debris in Massachusetts and an 11-person "incident management team" to help with logistics in New York state -- some in Albany and some in Long Island -- according to the Minnesota Incident Command System. Another two Minnesotans, one of whom is retired, will be working with FEMA in Massachusetts.
