Increased seat belt patrols are roaming the state through Friday.

In concert with it's Click It Or Ticket campaign, the state Department of Public Safety released numbers on seat belt use in Greater Minnesota.

Northwest Minnesota has the lowest use rate at 73.9 percent, according to regional surveys. Southeast Minnesota has the highest, at 86.7 percent.

In the spirit of Halloween, the state also released some seat belt-themed costume ideas, including one titled "Captain Swash-Buckle" or the "Shoulder-and-Lap Belt Mummy," pictured at right.

Ahem.  Decide for yourself whether these costumes are something you might wear.

For more seat belt use statistics, check out the Department of Public Safety's site.
