Fans who take the light rail to Target Field to catch the Twins’ final homestand of the season this weekend can stay downtown long into the night to celebrate or commiserate.

Starting this weekend, Metro Transit is adding an additional southbound run on Saturdays and Sundays, departing the Hennepin Avenue/Warehouse District station at 3 a.m. Previously the last train left downtown at 2:15 a.m., just after bar closing time.

"These extra trips will provide those enjoying downtown nightlife with expanded safe travel options," said Metro Transit General Manager Brian Lamb.
