The women had visited a man staying at the Metro Inn Motel at 5637 Lyndale Av. S. on Saturday, Aug. 25 when, at about 1 p.m., the motel staff asked the man if he planned to stay another night. He left, but the three women assaulted the motel staff, throwing a coffee pot among other things at them, according to police.

Moments later, a 60-year-old woman was carjacked near the motel and police believe the same three women were responsible. The driver of the car said she was stepping out of her 2000 tan Toyota Corolla when a woman asked her for directions. A second woman then demanded the car's keys, chasing the driver and hitting her in the head with the pointed end of a high-heeled shoe. The driver handed over her keys and the women left.

The police description of the women is as follows: The suspect who assaulted the carjacking victim is described as a black female, 20-25 years old, 5'5", medium build with a "pretty face" and her hair pulled back, wearing a teal blue pullover shirt that revealed her midriff and capri pants. The second suspect is a black female in her mid-twenties, 5'3" with a stocky build wearing a white shirt with bright, possibly floral, print and dark pants. The third suspect is a black female, also in her mid-twenties, 5'03" to 5'05" with a black spaghetti strap top and faded blue shorts.

The stolen Toyota was found the next morning in downtown Minneapolis.
