On the metro cover Tuesday, Masako Hirsch reported about how more and more Minneapolis burglars are targeting high-end bikes. More than 1,000 bikes were reported stolen in the city since January, up 12 percent from last year. At the same time, the bikes they are snagging are worth more. The average value of a stolen bike in the city was $450 in 2006, but jumped to $625 this year. Here's a timely example of the problem:
