With engineering, energy and health care done, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is now surveying employers in another area: agriculture.
The public system will hold seven "listening sessions" across Minnesota this month to figure out what skills agriculture employers will need from new workers.
These newly-announced sessions add to dozens already held. They're part of a bigger project, called the Workforce Assessment Initiative, to map the state's workforce needs -- region by region, industry by industry. The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development are partners in the project.
At each session, employers will respond to questions including, "What skills or credentials do you expect to be looking for in the next two years?"
The agriculture and agribusiness sessions start Thursday and continue through the month.
