The city of Minneapolis has made public the copy of a letter that it has sent to the state's housing commissioner, asking her to exempt city residents from a rule that has prevented homeowners from gaining access to emergency financial aid to repair their tornado-damaged homes.
I wrote about this in last Saturday's Star Tribune but I did not have the letter at that time. In the letter, Tom Streitz, director of housing and policy development for the city of Minneapolis, spells out the city's concerns to Mary Tingerthal, commissioner of the Minnesota Housing Department.
