From my colleague Jane Friedmann:
Part of Whistleblower’s objective is to report on actions government agencies and licensing boards take against the companies and individuals they regulate. Our intent is to provide, as a matter of record, a glimpse into the decisions these agencies and boards make. The majority of the decisions we post are ones to which the party being disciplined has agreed.
Two real estate salespeople had their licenses revoked in July and must each pay a $25,000 fine after the Department of Commerce said they participated in a mortgage fraud scheme.
The salespeople, My Dinh Lam, Minneapolis, and Jared M. Rothenberger, Bloomington, referred customers to individuals and companies representing Cloud 9 Sky Flats, a condominium complex in Minnetonka.
If a unit sold, the buyer was given a 30 percent kickback in cash and Dinh or Rothenberger took a portion of that in fees, the commerce department said.
The department said Sheri Lynn Delich, owner of an Apple Valley real estate company, CLD Enterprises, LLC, engaged in unlicensed activity by receiving property management fees as part of the scheme. The department revoked CLD’s license.
