3 airlines fined $175,000 for stranding passengers

First-of-its-kind federal fines totaling $175,000 were levied Tuesday morning against the three airlines involved in the stranding of dozens of passengers overnight on a regional ExpressJet airliner on a tarmac in Rochester, Minn., this past summer.
