ST. PAUL, Minn. - With snow on the ground, Minnesota's corn harvest is only 91 percent complete.

In its weekly crop weather report for Minnesota, the U.S. Department of Agriculture says last week's snowfall and high grain moisture levels may prompt some farmers to wait until spring to harvest their remaining corn.

The last time Minnesota corn acres were less than 95 percent harvested by mid-December was in 1985, when 87 percent of corn had been harvested as of Dec. 15.

The extended harvest season has also prevented the completion of fall tillage in parts of the state.

Snowfall totals across southeastern Minnesota last week ranged from 8 to 16 inches, with lesser amounts to the north and west.
