Cleaners accused of stealing from homes

A former cleaning company employee is accused of stealing $50,000 worth of items from homes in Dakota and Scott counties.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by KSTP-TV, Cortez Thomas, 28, took rings and necklaces between May 2008 and last March, when he worked for the Cleaning Authority of Burnsville.

His girlfriend, Keyshaye Mosely, 24, also worked for the cleaning company. She's charged with one felony charge for allegedly taking a wedding ring from an Apple Valley home. Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said she took more than 150 items to Twin Cities pawn shops.

Backstrom said police have recovered about half of the items. He said the cleaning agency is cooperating with police. Thomas was charged with three felonies.
