Brock Lesnar, the mixed martial arts star who wrestled for the University of Minnesota, was hospitalized after collapsing, according to wire and Internet reports Sunday.

Lesnar, heavyweight champion for prominent fighting circuit UFC, was hospitalized in North Dakota, UFC President Dana White said in a report on Canadian sports network TSN's website.

White told the Associated Press on Sunday that Lesnar is in "rough shape" after collapsing in Canada.

White said he can't divulge details about what's wrong with Lesnar, 32, but White said Lesnar's illness is serious and that he'll be out for a while.

"He's got mono and he's got something else wrong with him. I know what's wrong with him, he just doesn't want me talking about it," White said in the TSN report. "He doesn't have cancer or AIDS or anything like this, [but] he's got some problems, man."

Lesnar announced in October he was withdrawing from his upcoming title defense because of illness. That match was pushed to January. TSN reported the fight has been postponed again. Messages left with Lesnar's manager were not returned Sunday
