Family members ID victim of 'suspicious' death

Last update: November 15, 2009 - 7:45 AM

A man found dead early Saturday in an apartment in northeast Minneapolis has been identified as Brandon Keeler, 31, family members say.

Emergency responders were called to the apartment in the 1000 block of Lowry Avenue NE at about 5 a.m.  Saturday to help a man believed to be unconscious.

They found Keeler dead in what Minneapolis police are calling suspicious circumstances.

Minneapolis homicide investigators are looking at the case, police said.

The man's identity has not been released by the Hennepin County medical examiner's office. But family members told various broadcast outlets late Saturday that Keeler was the victim.

Police ask that anyone with information call the Minneapolis Police Department tip line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).
