Willmar man dies in crash

Last update: November 12, 2009 - 11:39 PM

A 77-year-old Willmar, Minn., man died Thursday in a broadside crash.

It happened about 2:30 p.m. west of Willmar in Chippewa County at the intersection of Hwy. 40 and County Road 2, the State Patrol said.

The 77-year-old was driving a 1989 Ford pickup north on County Road 2 when it collided with a 2001 Sterling truck headed west on Hwy. 40. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the patrol.

The Sterling's driver, Donald C. Urban, 82, of Raymond, was belted and did not appear to be injured, the patrol said.
