A man whose body was found in a pickup truck in Washington County was slain, authorities said Wednesday, adding that they do not believe the homicide was a random act.

The man, described as being in his mid- to late 30s, was found about 4:40 a.m. Tuesday in a pickup truck in the 200 block of Quinnell Avenue N. in Lakeland Shores after a citizen flagged down a deputy to report a suspicious vehicle, the Sheriff's Office said.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.

The Sheriff's Office "does not believe this to be a random act of violence," Sheriff William Hutton wrote in a news release. "The Sheriff's Office has not received information identifying the victim as part of the lower St. Croix Valley community."

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 651-439-9381. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
