Man who left impression pleads guilty to robbing bank in Minneapolis

A 44-year-old Minneapolis man who left quite an impression while robbing a downtown Minneapolis bank has admitted to the holdup.

Russell Brockman pleaded guilty Tuesday to robbing the First National Bank of the Lakes in August.

According to court records:

Brockman entered the bank at 706 2nd Av. S. and gave a teller a note that read, "Give me #10 $100 bills or get shot."

He also told the teller not to call anyone or pull any alarms. He left the bank after receiving cash. Among the bills was a red-dye pack.

The dye pack went off outside. When police arrived at the bank, they recovered about $1,245 -- some it discolored -- on the ground.

Police also recovered a palm print from the teller counter. Officers showed a past booking photo of him and five other people to the teller, who identified Brockman as the robber. He was arrested the next day in Anoka.

A date for sentencing has yet to be scheduled.
