About 300 Frontier jobs moving to Milwaukee

Last update: November 10, 2009 - 2:54 PM

DENVER - About 300 Frontier Airlines jobs are being moved to Milwaukee by the airline's new owner, Republic Airways.

Republic announced Tuesday that it's establishing a hub there.

Frontier spokesman Steve Snyder says about 220 heavy maintenance jobs based in Denver will move to Milwaukee as part of the effort.

Another 100 or so reservation positions at Frontier's facility in Las Cruces, N.M. will also be moved to the new hub. Snyder says that's the same facility the airline previously announced would be closing in December.

The maintenance jobs are expected to be moved to Milwaukee by mid-2010.

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper said the city offered Republic every conceivable incentive but couldn't match Milwaukee's offer of free hangar space.
