Flying wood kills N. Minn. lumber mill worker

Last update: November 10, 2009 - 1:29 PM

A 45-year-old lumber mill worker was killed on the job in northern Minnesota, when he was struck by a piece of wood thrown from a machine, authorities said this morning.

Frank Kaml, of Cook, Minn., was found dead at the scene following what the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is characterizing as an "accidental death" Monday afternoon at a family lumber mill in Gheen.

Kaml was working alone at the time, the Sheriff's Office said.
