The bidding on eBay was stopped temporarily after the manufacturers of La-Z-Boy chairs complained that the motorized version was not one of theirs.
Bidders on the online auction site eBay are back vying for a chance to own the souped-up, motorized recliner seized by Proctor, Minn., police in a drunken-driving case.
Bidding on the chair topped $43,000 in four days, but it was yanked off eBay Monday night after La-Z-Boy company officials complained that the chair really isn't a La-Z-Boy.
Proctor police reposted the listing minus the trademark moniker, dubbing it only as the "DWI chair," "motorized chair," "racing chair." And the bidding began again. By Tuesday evening, the recliner on wheels had drawn 56 bids, with the top offer at $7,000. Bidding ends Thursday.
The chair, powered by a lawn mower engine, has a stereo, a cup holder and lights.
