Corrections and clarifications

Last update: October 17, 2009 - 10:02 PM

Stories on Page B4 of last Sunday's paper and Page A9 of last Monday's paper incorrectly listed the sequence of drivers involved in a fatal multi-car accident on Interstate 35 at the Forest Lake split last Saturday morning. Michelle L. Bartell, 45, of Cedar, Minn., was driving the first car that spun out on an icy spot in the northbound lanes of I-35 at 7:56 a.m.  A second driver, Maria Wilson, 34, of Pine City, also spun out. Bartell and Wilson were waiting for a tow truck when a third vehicle, driven by William B. Franks, 58, of Chaska, rolled over nearby. When Bartell and Wilson went to check on Franks, Bartell was struck by a fourth vehicle driven by Tirrell Corgard, 70, of Roseville, according to the State Patrol. Bartell died at the scene. Franks suffered minor injuries, and the other drivers were uninjured.
