YOUR GUIDE TO THE TWIN CITIES
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota Board of Regents are set to approve three contracts with locals from the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union this week.
The deals cover about 3,000 clerical, health care and technical employees at the university's campuses in the Twin Cities, Duluth, Crookston and Morris. Union members ratified the agreements on July 23.
The deals call for the employees to get no raises the first year and 2-percent raises the second year. Their health insurance premiums also won't go up.
The contracts have already been accepted in principal by university administrators, so the regents' approval is largely procedural.
The regents' regular monthly meeting is scheduled for Thursday and Friday in Minneapolis.
