Last update: August 27, 2009 - 10:54 PM

A 71-year-old Grove City, Minn., man died Thursday in a crash with a pickup and a trailer parked on the side of Hwy. 4 in Meeker County, the State Patrol said.

The man was driving a Chrysler Town and Country minivan on Hwy. 4 near Meeker County Road 28 south of Grove City when he crashed into the rear of the trailer about 4:25 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the State Patrol said, and his name was not being released Thursday night.

The trailer was attached to the pickup, and both were parked on the southbound shoulder facing north with amber warning lights on, the State Patrol said.

Two St. Cloud men were outside the pickup and trailer cleaning up construction items and were not hurt.

Grove City is about 70 miles west of Minneapolis.
