Walz booked to address Legion's big convention

Minnesota Congressman Tim Walz will be a keynote speaker Wednesday at the American Legion's annual national convention in Louisville, Ky.

The Democrat from Mankato is the highest ranking enlisted soldier to serve in Congress. Walz is a retired command sergeant major; he served 24 years in the Army National Guard.

Walz serves on the House Veterans' Affairs Committee.

Next year's national American Legion convention will be in Milwaukee, followed by Minneapolis in 2011.
