Five Minneapolis couples started competing Monday for a wedding giveaway that will see one of the couples married on the Guthrie Theater stage this summer.

The prize package is valued at more than $60,000 and is part of a promotion for the Guthrie's "When We Are Married," which opens July 10.

THE PUBLIC CAN VIEW the video entries of the five finalists and vote for their favorite couple from today until Sunday at www.mspmag.com/dreamwedding.

THE WINNING COUPLE will be announced July 13, then married onstage in a ceremony Aug. 16 officiated by Guthrie veteran and "Father of the Bride" film star Peter Michael Goetz.

THE FINALISTS: Gretchen Bierbaum and Jeremiah Albrecht, Kate Ditter and Sam Hanson, Adrienne Grahn and Kevin Anderson, Elinor Anderson-Genne and Reggie Prim, and Jennie Freeburg and Joe Spoelstra.

"When We Are Married" tells the story of three distinguished couples coming together in celebration of their joint silver wedding anniversaries only to discover that the person who married them was, in fact, not authorized to perform marriages.
