One lane reopens on eastbound I-94 in Wis. after multivehicle crash in fog

Last update: July 5, 2009 - 10:24 AM

Fog is being blamed for a multivehicle crash in western Wisconsin that had all lanes of eastbound Interstate 94 sealed off Saturday night for several miles, authorities said.

The crash, which happened shortly after 10:30 p.m., is on I-94 southeast of Eau Claire, about halfway between Osseo and Northfield, the Wisconsin State Patrol is reporting.

Late Saturday, the left lane reopened to traffic. Before that, vehicles were being rerouted to southbound Hwy. 53 and then eventually back onto I-94, 10 miles southeast of the crash, the State Patrol said.

No further details about the crash itself were immediately available.
