Todd County boy electrocuted in farm accident

8-year-old dies in farm accident

An 8-year-old boy was electrocuted Monday night on a farm in rural Todd County. According to the Sheriff's Office, the boy -- who has not been identified -- was standing in a puddle of water near an electrical fan in a barn when the accident occurred.

When deputies arrived at the farm near Browerville after receiving a 911 call at 8:34 p.m., they performed CPR on the boy. He was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital in Long Prairie. The Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident.
