An 18-year-old man died Friday in a single-vehicle crash in Cass County, the Sheriff's Office reported. His death was one of at least four on outstate Minnesota roads this week.

First responders were called to County Road 2 in Pine River Township at 3:37 a.m. Friday, where they found that a 1993 Ford Ranger pickup had left the road, rolling over.

The man, from Pine River Township, died at the scene, and another 18-year-old man from Pine River Township was flown to a Twin Cities hospital with serious injuries. Their names have not been released.

On Thursday, a 27-year-old man from Mapleton, Minn., died when his 2017 Honda Civic crossed the center line on Hwy. 22 in Blue Earth County and hit a 2007 Mack truck head-on, the State Patrol said. Daniel J. Stauffer died at the scene. The truck driver, Dean J. Stage, 43, of Eagle Lake, suffered minor injuries.

On Wednesday, David L. Schildt, 61, of Cohasset, died when his 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a semitrailer truck in Cass County. The truck driver, David Elyea, 33, of Remer, was not hurt.

The patrol also released the name of Louis Alvarez, 51, of Las Vegas, killed Tuesday when the motorcycle he was driving crashed on Interstate 94 in Douglas County.
