Minneapolis voters can cast ballots for mayor, City Council and other city offices beginning Friday.

Early voters can choose to vote in person at the Early Voting Center, located one block from Minneapolis City Hall at 217 S. 3rd St., or cast absentee ballots.

The voting center will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours, including weekends, during the two weeks before Election Day on Nov. 7. Any Minneapolis resident can vote there, regardless of which ward they live in.

Voters can get absentee ballots to mail in by submitting a request to Minneapolis Elections and Voter Services and City Hall. Requests can also be e-mailed to minneapolisabsentee@minneapolismn.gov. Voters do not have to provide a reason for voting absentee.

More than a dozen mayoral candidates are challenging Mayor Betsy Hodges in her re-election bid, and more than 40 people are running for City Council — including sitting council members who are all up for re-election. Seats on the Board of Estimate and Taxation and the Park Board are also on the ballot.
