Last update: April 20, 2009 - 12:03 AM

A woman who died Saturday after her car collided with a stolen vehicle in St. Paul was identified Sunday as Shoua Vang, 48, of St. Paul.

Vang and a male companion were in a car at the Larpenteur Avenue exit off Interstate 35E in St. Paul when a stolen vehicle driven by the suspected thief crashed into them.

Vang was pronounced dead at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Her male companion was listed in serious condition.

The suspect and an 8-year-old boy riding with him had minor injuries. Vang's son, when reached at home Sunday afternoon, declined to comment.

Police said they were not pursuing the suspect when he crashed into Vang. Authorities estimate that he was driving about 90 miles per hour on Hwy. 36.

The suspect, a 33-year-old man, was arrested. He suffered minor injuries and was possibly intoxicated, police said. A blood alcohol content was not immediately available.

The 8-year-old boy in the stolen vehicle was taken to St. Paul's Regions Hospital, where he was treated for noncritical injuries. His relationship to the man was unclear.

Roseville police did not return calls seeking updates Sunday.
