Semi-car crash kills one, injures another

A semitrailer truck and a sedan collided in a rural south-central Minnesota intersection, killing the car's driver and severely injuring the truck driver, authorities said.

The crash occurred Thursday afternoon at Hwy. 71 and County Road 4, about halfway between Olivia and Morton, according to the State Patrol.

Killed was Jennifer M. Hengel, 34, of Colorado Springs, the patrol said. The truck driver, Gordon E. Sing, 61, of Bird Island, Minn., was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale in critical condition.
