Minnesota's building blocks

Minnesota's estimated share in selected areas under the 2009-10 federal stimulus legislation approved Wednesday by the U.S. House:

$1.9 billion: Medicaid

$1.1 billion: State fiscal-stabilization block grants (for education and key government services)

$478 million: Highways and bridges

$437 million: School districts (construction, special ed, early reading, etc.)

$211 million: Weatherization

$175 million: Food stamp increase (through 2013)

$107 million: Clean water projects

$84 million: Transit grants

• Total (including non-itemized funds): $4.5 billion
