St. Paul police have identified the teenager struck by a school bus Thursday morning in St. Paul.

Isaac Clemens Schneider, 15, of St. Paul, was struck in the crosswalk about 7:15 a.m. at Maryland Avenue and Dale Street. He was taken to Regions Hospital, where he was in critical condition as of late Thursday. An update on his condition was not immediately available. Police said Schneider, who attends nearby Como Park High School, had internal injuries.

The Hmong American Partnership bus was making a left turn from Maryland onto southbound Dale on the green light when it struck Schneider, who had the right of way. The driver, who has not been publicly identified, is cooperating with investigators and showed no signs of being impaired, police said.

Neighbors said collisions are common at the intersection. Police urged drivers to be aware of pedestrians, noting that nearly 50 of them have been struck by cars in St. Paul this year.
