No one matched all six numbers in Wednesday's Powerball drawing, but one lucky person in Tennessee won $1 million and players in three other states won $200,000 a piece, lottery officials said Thursday.
The ticket holder in Tennessee matched the first five numbers -- 23, 31, 33, 38 and 52 -- but missed the Powerball, which was 24. That player exercised the Power Play option to win $1 million. Players in Louisiana, Missouri and South Carolina matched the five white balls but did not exercise the Power Play option.
Powerball players can pay an extra $1 per ticket for the opportunity to multiply their winnings two to five times.
One Minnesotan won $50,000 Wednesday while a total of 813,663 players collectively won $8.3 million, lottery officials said.
With no grand prize winner Wednesday, the jackpot for Saturday's drawing will grow to $120 million.
