A 78-year-old woman who was struck by a car in her northeast Minneapolis neighborhood has died, authorities said Tuesday.

Orita M. Liska was hit Saturday at about 5 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of NE. Broadway near Main Street, police said. Liska lived just a few doors from where she was run over.

Liska suffered severe head injuries and died two days later at the Hennepin County Medical Center, police and the county medical examiner's office said.

The driver, a 46-year-old Minneapolis woman, stopped after she "heard a thud," according to a police report.

No citations have been issued, police said.
