Reader query: Have you seen the Manitoba polar bears?

Last update: November 21, 2008 - 11:16 AM

Have you recently been to Churchill, Manitoba, to view and photograph polar bears?

We'd like to hear from you. Bear watching has become quite a tourist draw, with about 10,000 people going there each October-November to see the bears. The bears gather near Churchill at this time of year, waiting for the sea ice to freeze so they can move north to start hunting seals.

If you've seen the polar bears, please send an email to Tom Meersman at meersman@startribune.com.
