Another Minnesotan wins $200,000 in Powerball

Last update: November 13, 2008 - 9:07 AM

It was a night of close calls for Powerball players Wednesday as six players came within one number of claiming the $32 million jackpot.

Players in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arizona, Missouri, North Carolina and Louisiana each matched the first five numbers taken from the hopper, but missed the Powerball. They each won $200,000, lottery officials said.

This was the third straight drawing in which a player from Minnesota won the multi-state lottery's second largest prize.

The winning numbers on Wednesday were 1 18, 25, 29 and 45. The Powerball was 2.

Overall, more than 373,900 players collectively won $3,579,529 in Wednesday's drawing.

The jackpot will grow to $42 million for Saturday's drawing at 9:59 p.m. Central Time.
