A Blaine man who hasn't had a valid driver's license since 1999 was killed and he seriously injured two people after rear-ending a car waiting to turn on a rural central Minnesota road, authorities said Wednesday.

The crashes occurred near Oak Park, Minn., early Monday evening on County Road 5, just east of County Road 6, the Benton County Sheriff's Office said. Killed was Brandon A. Bellamy, 35.

Bellamy had his license revoked in 1999 but kept driving anyway, according to the state Department of Public Safety.

State records show he had been convicted at least a dozen times for driving after having his license revoked.

According to the Sheriff's Office:

Tessa Fussy, 17, waited in her car to turn left into the driveway of her family's home from westbound County Road 5 and was hit from behind by Bellamy's car.

Bellamy's vehicle then continued on the east side of the road and struck a third car head-on. Emergency responders declared Bellamy dead at the scene.

Seriously injured in the third car were driver Joan T. Novak, 52, of Foley, Minn., and an 11-year-old passenger. They were both taken to St. Cloud Hospital.

Fussy received treatment at the scene for her injuries.

Authorities have yet to disclose why Bellamy hit Fussy's car.
