SIZE: No more than 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet high.
LOCATION: Fires within a pit or ring must be at least 25 feet from structures or combustible materials. Free-standing fires in pits or containers must be at least 15 feet from structures.
MATERIALS: No trash, brush, leaves, construction waste or paper products. Only unpainted wood that has not been treated with chemicals or preservatives. Coal and charcoal are also allowed.
HOURS: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Minneapolis. Hours not restricted in St. Paul as long as fire is constantly attended.
CONDUCT: Attended by a competent person, with fire extinguishing equipment readily available. No fires when wind speeds exceed 10 miles per hour.
