Portion of eastbound I-494 in Richfield to close for weekend work

Last update: October 8, 2008 - 11:27 AM

A portion of eastbound Interstate Hwy. 494 in Richfield will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.

Crews will perform underground utilities work and repave the section of road from just east of Interstate Hwy. 35W and Nicollet Avenue.

The westbound lane nearest the median also will be closed.

Motorists affected by the detour will be rerouted north on I-35W to east Hwy. 62, then south on Hwy. 77, also known as Cedar Avenue.

This resurfacing project is part of the I-494/Lyndale Avenue Interchange reconstruction project scheduled to be completed in November 2009.
