A collision between a Green Line light-rail train and a St. Paul police car in November was caused by an officer running a red light, a Metro Transit report said Tuesday.
The Nov. 3 crash near Pascal Street and University Avenue sent St. Paul police officer Pil Jeon to the hospital briefly with neck and back pain. No citations were issued, and no charges will be filed against the officer.
Jeon was speeding to a crime scene with his lights and siren on, according to a St. Paul police report, but he did not yield to the red light at the intersection. The train was unable to stop.
No one on the train was injured, and service was disrupted for about 30 minutes after the crash.
