One person was killed and another was seriously injured when the car they were driving crossed over a centerline and struck a semitrailer truck head-on near Wadena early Saturday.
Tyler Langer, 22, of Wadena, was traveling northbound on Hwy. 71 near 120th Street, just south of Wadena, when he struck the semi. The crash happened around 12:45 a.m. Langer is in critical condition at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena. Alcohol was detected in Langer's system, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The passenger, 23-year-old Gabriel Kemp, of Bluffton, died at the scene. The driver of the semi, Jovanny Vega, was not injured.
The State Patrol said the two-lane highway was wet at the time.
