Two freeway ramps in St. Paul to close for a week

Last update: August 29, 2008 - 10:38 AM

The first street closings associated with the Republican National Convention go into effect tonight when two freeway ramps leading into downtown St. Paul are shut down.

Ramps from northbound Interstate Hwy. 35E to Kellogg Blvd. and from eastbound Interstate 94 to 5th Street will be closed starting at 6 p.m. today. The ramps will reopen at 6 a.m. Sept. 5, a day after the convention ends at the Xcel Energy Center.

The convention runs Sept. 1-4.
