A 53-year-old teacher has died after she and two others were thrown from their horses in Chisago County over the weekend.

Felicity A. Crosby of Stacy, Minn., was flown to Regions Hospital in St. Paul after the accident on Saturday. She died Monday.

A Richfield woman and a girl from Bloomington, each riding separate horses, had minor injuries.

The three were riding at midday Saturday in Lent Township when their horses were spooked by a horse running in a nearby field, according to the sheriff's office. The horses ran out of control before throwing the riders.

"Felicity was loved by so many in all walks of life; her family, the school community where she taught, the farming, equine and many other communities where she shared her passion for life," her family wrote in an obituary.

She was a teacher 21 years at Clara Barton Open School in Minneapolis, which is a public magnet school. She taught third and fourth grades.

Crosby earned degrees and credentials at the University of Minnesota, Macalester College, and University of St. Thomas.

Services will be Saturday at Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 214 3rd St. N., Stillwater, with visitation at 1 p.m. and a memorial at 2 p.m.
